Former legendary India skipper MS Dhoni recently turned 42 on Friday, the 7th of July 2023. Cricket fans across the entire country celebrated their hero’s birthday in different styles in different cities of India. Social Media was also filled with heart-whelming birthday wishes for the former World Champion skipper of India.

Meanwhile, an old video is making rounds on social media after going viral as soon it was shared by Mohit Sharma, the star pacer and Dhoni’s former CSK teammate. In this viral video, Dhoni could be seen singing the song ‘Salaam-e-Ishq meri Jaan from the Bollywood movie ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’.

The video is probably from the time when Mohit Sharma was playing with the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the Indian Premier League. Sharma shared this old video from his official Instagram handle while extending birthday wishes for MS Dhoni.

“Dii duwaye tumhe umar bhar ke liye…, Happy birthday Mahi bhai (with a few heart emojis),” read the caption of this video post uploaded by Mohit Sharma.

Notably, it has been now four years since Dhoni played his last-ever international game for Team India. It was the semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2019 against New Zealand where Dhoni’s unforgettable run-out by Martin Guptill turned out to be a game-changing moment against India. India was knocked out of the tournament after losing against the Kiwis in the rain-affected semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2019.

Later on, Dhoni hung his boots in international cricket and called it a day on the 15th of August 2020, almost three years back. Since then, he is only active in the Indian Premier League for his franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Recently after winning the title of the Indian Premier League 2023 for Chennai Super Kings, the 42-year-old joined the Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma to become the most successful captain in the history of the tournament. Now, Rohit and Dhoni have 5 IPL titles each to their name as captains for the respective franchises MI and CSK.

There are also speculations that Dhoni could be in action with CSK in next year’s edition of IPL 2024 as well.
