Watch: Pakistani anchor Zainab Abbas falls over due to a collision with a fielder during MICT vs SEC game in SA20

On 18 January 2023, MI Cape Town locked horns with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the ongoing SA20 league. It was the 12th match of the tournament that took place in Cape Town. Both teams were looking to win the game to improve their position at the table. However, Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the game, courtesy of Marco Jansen’s outrageous knock.

He scored 66 runs off 27 balls to help his team in chasing down the target of 172 runs in 19.3 overs. But, during his innings, a funny incident happend when he hit a boundary. But, in order to save that boundary, a fielder of MI Cape Town collided with the Pakistani TV presenter Zainab Abbas. As a result, she fell down and that video has now gone viral.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the game by two wickets in SA20

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 13th over of Eastern cape’s innings. Marco Jansen was batting while Sam Curran was bowling. On the sixth and last delivery of that over, Jansen heaved the ball for a four in the deep square leg region. Meanwhile, the TV representative, Zainab Abbas was there interviewing just behind the ropes. 

Then, a fielder came up running and dived to save the four. He failed but got collided with her. As a result, she fell over and that video became viral instantly. However, no such severe injuries happened either to the player or the Pakistani anchor. Speaking of the match, MI Cape Town scored 171 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Grant Roelofsen scored 56 runs off 36 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.

In reply, Sunrisers Eastern Cape were struggling at 91 runs for five wickets in 12.1 overs. But, Marco Jansen scored 66 runs off 27 balls, including three fours and seven sixes. Jansen also smashed Rashid Khan for 28 runs in one over. He also won the player of the match award for such a blistering knock.
