However, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo made headlines in the last few days after his explosive interview regarding his club, Manchester United. That interview left all fans shocked and surprised before the World Cup. However, as a result of that, Manchester United terminated Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract.

Therefore, now, ahead of the World Cup opener against Ghana, Ronaldo became a free agent. However, now a video has gone viral where the Portugal Head Coach, Fernando Santos, and Bruno Fernandes attended the pre-match press conference. During that Santos’ reaction to being asked about Ronaldo continuously left fans surprised.

During that pre-match press conference, journalists asked questions regarding Cristiano Ronaldo to his former Manchester United teammate, Bruno Fernandes. In response to that, Fernandes said: “I don’t feel uncomfortable. I don’t have to pick a side. It was a dream come true to play with Cristiano but nothing lasts forever."

On 22 November 2022, Manchester United confirmed the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo. The official statement from the club read: "Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch."

After that, Ronaldo also issued a statement. “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early. I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge. I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future." Cristiano Ronaldo concluded.
