Both India and Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup in Australia on 6 November 2022. However, the Men in Green were under pressure as several results were needed to go in their favour to get qualified. Before their clash against Bangladesh, South Africa faced the Netherlands in Adelaide.
All Pakistani players and fans were hoping for a defeat of the Proteas as that could only help them to be alive in that qualification race. Eventually, the Netherlands managed to defeat South Africa as the Proteas got eliminated from the tournament. After that, the Bangladesh vs Pakistan clash became a qualifier. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in their last match of the group stage
Speaking of the video, Pakistan were going to take on Bangladesh in Adelaide after that South Africa vs Netherlands clash on the same ground. So, players were in the dressing room watching that match closely. The Dutch pulled off a fantastic win in the tournament as they gave Pakistan a lifeline.
All Pakistani players were seen celebrating with each wicket the Netherlands’ players were taking during the match. Even, the Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam was all smiles when they acknowledged the victory of the Dutch. Speaking about the match between the Proteas and the Dutch, the Netherlands scored 158 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In reply, South Africa managed only 145 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.
Then, against Bangladesh, Pakistan did not make any mistakes. In that must-win game, Bangladesh batted first and scored 127 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Men in Green managed to win that match with five wickets to spare. They managed to chase down the target in just 18.1 overs. Naseem Shah Afridi won the player of the match award. He took four wickets for 22 runs in his four overs.
