WATCH: Reporter Rohit Sharma breaks into laughter after Ajinkya Rahane's 'I am still young' statement

Rohit Sharma will be leading Team India in the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies. Whereas Ajinkya Rahane will be there in the role of vice-captain.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is known for his funny banters creating light moments during interactions with journalists or press conferences. Recently, he did the same during the pre-match press conference of Indian vice-captain and veteran batter, Ajinkya Rahane ahead of the first Test against West Indies.

During the press conference, Rahane was asked about his interesting comeback to the national side at 35 of his age. Answering this question, Rahane looked quite irritated and went on to say that he is still young and a lot of cricket is there he wants to play.

"What do you mean by at this age? I am still young yaar (friend). There's still a lot of cricket in me," said Rahane to the journalist. Subsequently, this answer from Ajinkya Rahane made Rohit Sharma burst into a peal of laughter. Later on, skipper Sharma also turned into a reporter and asked some questions to Rahane about the latter’s the experience in West Indies and if he have any advice for the youngsters.

The video of this amazing moment between Rohit and Rahane started making rounds on social media within minutes of being shared by the Indian Cricket Board from the official Twitter handle.

Coming back to Rahane, he also explained the hard work he has done in the last couple of months including his performance in domestic cricket. It was followed by his batting heroics in the Indian Premier League 2023 while playing for the Chennai Super Kings.

"I had a good IPL and domestic season. I have grown in confidence as a batter but in the past one and a half years I have also worked a lot on my fitness. I have worked on a few aspects of my batting. At the moment I am enjoying my cricket. I am not thinking too much about the future. For now, every match is important for me," said Rahane.

Talking about the upcoming Test series between India and West Indies, both teams will lock horns in the series opener at Windsor Park in Dominica, tomorrow Wednesday, the 12th of June.
