India fans were left shell-shocked to witness their team losing the first ODI despite restricting Bangladesh to 136 for 9 while defending a low score of 186 runs at Shere Bangla Stadium on Sunday.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman stitched an unbeaten 51-run partnership for the last wicket to help Bangladesh register an unbelievable win. During that partnership, fans also saw lapses on the field from the Indian team which cost them the match, eventually.

First, it was KL Rahul, who dropped a catch of Mehidy Hasan Miraz on the third ball of the 43rd over. On the very next ball, Sundar had the chance to claim a catch at third man but instead, he decided not to even go for it.

Miraz sliced one to third man region and Sundar was stationed there only to take that catch. However, he missed that in the night sky and, as a result, the Bangladesh batter got another chance.

Following Washington Sundar’s lapse on the field, Rohit Sharma was seen fuming at the Indian all-rounder for not even attempting the catch. The Indian skipper was shocked to witness that and ended up abusing Sundar. A video clip of the incident has also gone viral on the internet.

Miraz didn’t give any opportunity to India for making a comeback, thereafter, as he helped Bangladesh notch an unlikely win. In the end, the hosts won the game by 1 wicket and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz proved to be the hero for Bangladesh as he played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 38 runs in 39 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes. Muztafizur Rahman also gave him great support at the other end, as he remained unbeaten on 10 off 11 balls.

As for India’s bowling attack, Mohammad Siraj looked the most impressive as he claimed 3 wickets for just 32 runs in his 10 overs. Shardul Thakur was also brilliant for his figures of 1 for 21 in 9 overs.
