Oval Invincibles and the Manchester Originals locked horns in the 13th match of the men’s hundred 2023 at the Kennington Oval in London. Apart from Heinrich Klassen’s blistering knock, the game also attracted the headlines for the unbelievable bowling spell of Spencer Johnson who completely outmuscled the Manchester batters in the second innings of the match.

Johnson bowled 19 dot balls in his quota of 20 balls conceding only 1 run, and scalped 3 wickets. The video of his bowling heroics is also making rounds on social media within minutes of being shared on social media.

Notably, Johnson is also expected to make his debut in international cricket for Australia in the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of the action of the match, Manchester skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and asked Invincibles to bat first. Batting first, Oval Invincibles posted a decent total of 186 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Star Proteas batter Heinrich Klassen smashed 60 runs off just 27 balls with 2 fours and 6 sixes. Apart from him, openers Jason Roy and Will Jacks also played the crucial knocks of 59 and 32 runs, respectively.

Jamie Overton scalped two wickets for Manchester, alongside one wicket each claimed by Richard Gleeson, Josh Little, and Paul Walter.

While chasing the target, Buttler’s men completely surrendered against the bowling attack of Invincibles; It was only the lower order batter Jamie Overton who scored 37 runs after the skipper’s struggling knock of 23 runs off 24 balls. They got bowled out only on the score of 92 runs and lost the match by a big margin of 94 runs.

Spencer Johnson and Sunil Narine scalped three wickets each for Originals, alongside two doors each picked by Gus Atkinson and Nathan Sowter.
