India kicked off their 20-20 World Cup 2022 campaign on 23 October in Melbourne. In the first match of the mega event, they took on Pakistan. After losing the last match at the World Cup 2021, Indian players were pumped up to do well this time around. But, India and Pakistan managed to display a brilliant game of cricket at the MCG.
After playing good quality cricket in 40 overs, India managed to win the thriller at the MCG. Virat Kohli was the star of the show as he came up with a match-winning knock. But, a video went viral after the match where Sunil Gavaskar was seen jumping in joy to celebrate the victory.

Speaking of the video, all fans along with former cricketers were waiting for the finish of the match. Ashwin was batting as India needed one run off one ball. But, he kept his cool and managed to clinch the victory over Pakistan. As soon as he hit the run, Sunil Gavaskar was seen jumping in joy to celebrate the victory. Even, others like Irfan Pathan and Srikkanth were there also.
Fans found the video lovely as the video went viral instantly. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. Indian bowlers were on a great rhythm as they restricted Pakistan to 160 runs only. The Men in Green scored 159 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets.
In reply, Indian batters were in trouble also due to Pakistani bowlers. But, Virat Kohli showed his class once again. He scored 82* runs off 53 balls, at a staggering strike rate of 154.71. He hit four sixes and six fours throughout the inning. Along with him, Hardik Pandya scored vital 40 runs and he took three wickets also with the ball. Thus, India managed to clinch the victory from the jaws of Pakistan in their 20-20 World Cup opener.
