A hilarious incident took place in the first qualifier of the Caribbean Premier League, played between Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The incident when Trinbago Knight Riders were batting in the second innings while chasing a target of 167 runs in 20 overs. The incident took place in the second innings when Guyana skipper Imran Tahir was bowling in the fifth over.
Tahir trapped Knight Riders’ Mark Dayal in front of the wickets and the ball went on to hit the pads of the latter. Tahir desperately appealed for an LBW but the umpire came up with an amazing and interesting reaction that attracted the eyeballs of the cricket fans across social media.
As the umpire failed to see the exact visuals of the LBW for which Tahir appealed; in a response, he made a hilarious gesture that originally belonged to the veteran WWE Wrestling superstar John Cena. The umpire responded to Tahir with this gesture which is famously known as ‘You can’t see me!’.
The video of this hilarious moment is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by a fan on X.

Speaking of the action of the match, the visiting skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and asked Guyana to bat first. Batting first, the hosts posted a total of 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of opener Saim Ayub’s 49-run knock followed by the 36-run knock played by wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan in the middle order.
Terrance Hinds and Waqar Salamkheil scalped two wickets each for Knight Riders, alongside one wicket each picked by Ali Khan and Akeal Hosein.
While chasing the target in the second innings, Trinbago’s opener Chadwick Walton played an impressive knock of 80 runs off just 57 balls, with 6 fours and 4 sixes with the bat. Apart from Walton, star wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran also scored 33 runs off 24 balls, with 2 fours and sixes. These knocks helped Knight Riders to chase down the target in 18.1 overs with 11 balls remaining. They have now entered into the final of the CPL 2023, where they will meet the winner of the second qualifier.
