The 43rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore witnessed everything alongside cricket. Nobody expected whatever happened in the aftermath of the match when LSG lost to RCB in a very low-scoring affair, unlike the other results that happened in the most recent matches of the tournament.
Former RCB skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli happened to involve in a heated spat with LSG players Naveen-ul-Haq and Amit Mishra followed by a very strongly emotional words exchange with opponent mentor Gautam Gambhir.
Kohli showed shoes to Naveen-ul-Haq in the 17th over of the LSG innings during their run chase; it was followed by the moment when Virat hurled mouthfuls at his former Indian teammate and senior LSG spinner Amit Mishra. The video of this incident started making rounds on social media within minutes of the conclusion of the match.
All this happened in the match later resulted in a heated verbal spat and emotional exchange of words between LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir and RCB veteran Virat Kohli. Both the veterans have been fined with their entire match for this unexpected moment post-LSGβs defeat by 18 runs against RCB at their home ground AB Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Hereβs the video compilation of heated moments in Ekana Stadium involving Virat Kohli with the opponent players and mentor Gautam Gambhir:

Notably, the senior players including the likes of Amit Mishra and LSGβs assistant batting coach Vijay Dahiya played a crucial in calming down the intense environment between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli in the aftermath of the match.
For the unversed, Kohli and Gambhir had also been in front of each other in a heated on-field argument 10 years back in the IPL 2013 during a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. At that moment, it was another teammate of Kohli and Gambhir from Delhi, Rajat Bhatia who calmed down both the stars.
