On 2 November 2022, the Men in Blue took on Bangladesh in Adelaide in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. It was their fourth match of the tournament, especially after getting defeated by the Proteas in the last match. So, the Indian fans were hoping to see a better performance from Rohit Sharma and his men in the clash against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh were also coming off after winning two out of their three matches in the ongoing tournament. However, India managed to win a thriller by just five runs. Virat Kohli was the player of the match once again for his match-winning knock. But, now a video went viral where Bangladesh fans are claiming to get deprived of five legal runs.

Speaking about the video, the incident took place during the seventh over of Bangladesh’s innings. Axar Patel was bowling for India. Bangladesh were flying at that moment as Litton Das and Shanto were batting. On the second delivery of that over, Das hit the ball in the off-side. Arshdeep Singh threw the ball and Bangladesh players completed two runs.

But, during that, Virat Kohli was seen doing a ‘Fake Throw’ to divert the batters. However, the umpire missed it and no actions were taken during the match. After the match, Bangladesh claims of getting deprived of five penalty runs. Nurul Hasan also spoke about it after the completion of the game.

Nurul said: "Certainly the field was wet and it had an impact and everyone saw that and eventually what I felt is that when we were talking there was a fake throw and it could have been a five-run penalty and that could have gone our way but unfortunately even that didn't come." Speaking about the match, India scored 184 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored 64* runs off 44 balls, at a strike rate of 145.45. In reply, Bangladesh managed only 145 runs for six runs in 16 overs.
