Jonny Bairstow was the only English batter who troubled India in the first innings of the fifth Test match. He scored a brilliant century after the team lost wickets early on. His score of 106 runs in 140 balls helped England post a score of 284 runs. He was finally dismissed by Mohammed Shami in the 55th over of the match.

Shami bowled a wide delivery that took an edge off Bairstow's bat before flying to Virat Kohli's hand at slips. The former Indian skipper would have been relieved by this catch as he was seen celebrating the wicket with high energy. A video of the same has done rounds on the internet.

Notably, Virat Kohli and Jonny Bairstow had a heated banter early on day three of the match. The cameras saw Kohli approaching Bairstow and signalling him to stand in his crease. He was then seen signalling for Bairstow to be silent.

"What authority do you have?" Don't tell me what to do. Just stand and fucking bat," Kohli appeared to say. It is unknown what Bairstow said at the moment. Following that, the England skipper Ben Stokes was seen conversing with Kohli. The Indian star then approached Bairstow with a smile and a friendly punch on the arm.

After this banter, Bairstow shifted gears and started scoring more freely. His century got England back in the game. They eventually were all out for a score of 284 runs, handing India a 132-run lead in the match.

Cheteshwar Pujara then stayed at the crease for a while and batted brilliantly in India's second innings. Despite losing three wickets, the team finished the third day with 125 runs. They currently lead the game by 257 runs. Pujara finished the day with 50 runs off 139 balls. Rishabh Pant also stayed not out on day three, scoring 30 runs in 46 balls.

The two will now look to form a good partnership and set a competitive total for England to chase down
