WATCH: Virat Kohli jokes as Paparazzi calls Anushka Sharma 'Sir' by mistake

Tuesday night in Mumbai, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma went out to dinner with the rest of his team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Later, when the couple was leaving the restaurant to take pictures with the photographers, one of the photographers accidentally addressed Anushka as "sir." Virat retorted in jest that he ought to be addressed as "ma'am" then. Before entering the building again, the pair grinned at the humour.

The meeting was documented online by a paparazzo account. While Anushka donned a white striped vest with white leggings and black heels, Virat Kohli wore a patterned shirt with black pants and white sneakers. After dinner, the couple can be seen outside posing for the photographers in the video.

In an attempt to draw their attention to gaze at the cameras, one of the photographers accidentally addressed Anushka Sharma as "sir." Then Virat makes fun of the audience by exclaiming, "Virat ma'am bhi bol de (Why don't you say Virat, ma'am, too!)." After that, the photographer apologises. The couple laughed about the mishap and went back inside the eatery.

Most of the fans on the Instagram post were in splits about the paparazzo's error. Most of the supporters also found Virat's joke to be offensive. "Virat mam," one fan said, using the "laughing face with tears" emoji. Another person commented, "Anushka sir (laughing face with tears emoji) Virat mam bhi bolde @virat.kohli." Another fan posted, "These 2 (fire and heart eyes emojis)," while another referred to them as their "favourite couple."

The Mumbai Indians defeated Virat Kohli's RCB in a thrilling game on Tuesday. Anushka has attended every one of his games, sitting in the stands. 2017 saw the pair's wedding in Italy, attended only by their closest loved ones. They had dated each other for a while. In January 2021, their daughter Vamika Kohli was born.

Anushka Sharma has taken a little time off from performing in recent years. She most recently appeared opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the 2018 movie Zero. She produced the movie Bulbbul and the online series Paatal Lok in 2020. In the Netflix movie Qala (2022), made by her brother Karnesh Ssharma, the actor had a brief cameo appearance for the song Ghodey Pe Sawaar.
