On 14 January 2023, Pretoria Capitals took on Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 league. It was the sixth match of the ongoing tournament. However, the Capitals won the match by a considerable margin of 37 runs under Wayne Parnell. Will Jacks won the player of the match award for his 92-run knock.
Parnell failed to score with the bat but took two wickets for 20 runs in three overs. However, he came up with two epic celebrations of the Portugues superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo after taking those wickets. Hence, that video has now gone viral on all social media platforms as fans have found that interesting.

“I have always been a big Cristiano Ronaldo fan and obviously a Manchester United fan as well.” - Wayne Parnell
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the second over of Eastern Cape’s innings. Wayne Parnell was bowling and took two wickets consecutively on the second and third delivery respectively. Then, he was seen with two trademark celebrations of Cristiano Ronaldo. One is the ‘Siu’ while the other is his ‘Nap’ celebration.
However, it was not the first time that Wayne Parnell came up with Ronaldo’s celebration. He did the same during the 20-20 World Cup 2022 match against India. After that, he opened up about his love and affection for Cristiano Ronaldo and his former club, Manchester United.
While speaking in a video posted on Cricket South Africa’s official Instagram page, Wayne Parnell said: “The celebration obviously comes from Ronaldo. I have always been a big Cristiano Ronaldo fan and obviously a Manchester United fan as well. And obviously, he’s been going through a little bit of a tough time recently. But one thing I always like is his resilience and that’s something I have always taken on his word. Like never say die attitude and always wanting to put on performances for the team.” However, Cristiano Ronaldo left the English Club during the January transfer window and joined the Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr in a lucrative offer.
