After losing the third match of the 20-20 World Cup against the Proteas, team India locked horns with Bangladesh in Adelaide on 2 November 2022. Indian fans were hoping for a better performance from Rohit Sharma and his men as they were looking to strengthen their position in the group.
However, they did not disappoint fans as India managed to win a rain-threatened thriller by a margin of five runs. Virat Kohli was the man of the match for his vital knock of 64* runs. But, the match got reduced to 16 overs while Bangladesh were chasing due to heavy rain. So, after the match, a reporter got involved in an argument with Shakib Al Hasan and the video went viral.

Speaking about the match, India batted first and scored 184 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored 64* runs off 44 balls. In reply, Bangladeshi openers had a quickfire start. Bangladesh managed to score 66 runs in the first seven overs. Then, the rain came and the match got stopped. After some time, the match got resumed as the game got reduced to 16 overs. Bangladesh got a revised target of 151 runs.
But, before that re-start, Shakib Al Hasan and Rohit Sharma were seen talking with the umpire. The outfield of ground looked wet. But, still, the match restarted between Bangladesh and India. During the post-match press conference, a journalist asked: "Shakib, bad luck. Did you really try not to play after the rain? What was the discussion that went through?” Shakib said: "Do we have any option?” Then, the reporter said: "No option, but that's the reason. Did you try to convince them?" The Bangladesh skipper said: "Convince whom?"
The reporter said: "The umpire and Rohit Sharma." In reply, Shakib Al Hasan asked: "Do I have the ability to convince the umpire?" then, the reporter asked: "Then you are discussing something about river of Bangladesh.
