India and Australia are currently playing against each other in the first of the three-match T20I series at Punjab Association Cricket Ground in Mohali. Skipper, Aaron Finch won the toss and invited India to bat first. India went with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as openers with Virat Kohli coming at number three. Between Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik, the latter got the nod ahead of the southpaw.

Prior to the start of the innings, fans were looking forward to seeing Virat Kohli bat, especially after his ton against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022. But, before that, a video of him chatting up with Yuvraj Singh went viral. Virat Kohli was padded up and was seen standing close to the boundary rope alongside veteran cricketer, Yuvraj Singh. The duo was spotted together discussing something. Here’s a look at the video:

The run-machine didn’t have a great outing with the bat in the first T20I. He got out early for just 2 runs in 7 balls. Skipper too departed for 11 runs as India had lost first two wickets for just 35 runs on the board. However, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav didn’t let that effect their strokeplay as they kept scoring boundaries all around the park. They stitched 68 runs for the third wicket with KL Rahul notching his half-century in 32 deliveries.

Suryakumar Yadav also played a terrific knock of 46 runs in 25 deliveries, including 2 fours and 4 sixes. However, the one who stole the show towards the end was Hardik Pandya. The Indian all-rounder exhibited his range of shots. He hit three consecutive sixes on the last three balls of the innings to propel the total of 208 runs at the end of the first innings. He remained unbeaten on 71 off 30 balls, which had 7 fours and 5 sixes.

At the time of writing, Australia are 79 for 1 in 7 overs with 130 needed in 78 deliveries.
