New Orleans Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson returned to the court on Wednesday after missing the entire 2021-22 NBA season due to a foot injury. Zion impressed everyone on his comeback as he helped his team beat Chicago Bulls 129-125. The 22-year-old left the stadium stunned with his performance making 13 points, four rebounds and one assist and a steal each in his 15 minutes of appearance in his NBA Preseason debut at the United Center in Chicago.
Zion is widely hailed as the most fascinating NBA player since LeBron James was drafted in 2003. On his return he lived up to the expectations, making New Orleans Pelicans a major contender to qualify for the playoffs this season. Apart from Zion, Devonte' Graham (21 points, 5 assists), Willy Hernangomez (15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks), Dyson Daniels (15 points, 3 steals, 2 blocks) and Jaxson Hayes (14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) were relentless to help New Orleans Pelicans beat Chicago Bulls.

On the other hand, DeMar DeRozan (21 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Nikola Vucevic (15 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 steals, 3 assists) and Javonte Green's (18 points) combined efforts fell short as Chicago Bulls faced a defeat at home.
Following a freshman-year stint with the Duke Blue Devils, Williamson was selected by the Pelicans with the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2020. In 2021, he became the 4th youngest NBA player to be selected to an All-Star game.
Williamson also left high school as a McDonald's All-American, runner-up for Mr Basketball USA, and USA Today All-USA first team honoree. In high school, he drew national attention for his slam dunks.
In his freshman and only season with Duke, Williamson was named ACC Player of the Year, ACC Athlete of the Year and ACC Rookie of the Year. He set the single-game school scoring record for freshmen in January 2019, claimed ACC Rookie of the Week accolades five times, earned AP Player of the Year, Sporting News College Player of the Year recognition, and won the Wayman Tisdale Award.
