Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals locked horns in the 56th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The visitors’ skipper Rajasthan Royals won the flip of the coin and asked KKR to bat first. Batting first, KKR posted a total of 149 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Later, the Royals comfortably chased down the target and won the match by a massive margin of nine wickets to come back to the winning ways in the tournament. The fans were also elated and ecstatic following the amazing win of Rajasthan Royals.

Talking about the entire action of the match, it was only Venkatesh Iyer for KKR who played a struggling knock of 57 runs with two boundaries and four sixes. On the back of his knock and a 22-run contribution from skipper Nitish Rana, the hosts managed to post a total of 149 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first 20 overs of the game.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult scalped four and two wickets respectively alongside one wicket each claimed by Sandeep Sharma and KM Asif.
While chasing the target, the visitors comfortably chased down the target in 13.1 overs for the loss of only one wicket and won the match by a massive margin of nine wickets to come back to the third spot in the points table of the tournament. The young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal played a swashbuckling knock for RR and scored 98 runs off just 47 balls with 12 boundaries and five sixes to his name.
Other than his name, Sanju Samson also scored 48 runs off just 29 balls with two boundaries and five sixes to cross the line for RR. Jaiswal won the ‘Player of the Match award for his heroic knock in favour of RR.
