Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs locked horns in the 25th game of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2022. The visitors (Jamaica) won the toss and elected to field first. They had a great start with the ball as they took three wickets for 35 runs in 4.2 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shakib Al Hasan bagged golden ducks while Chandrapaul Hemraj could only score run-a-ball 13.
Skipper Shimron Hetmyer (11 off 18) struggled during his innings before being trapped lbw by Mohammad Nabi. Shai Hope scored a fine 60 off 45 balls including four fours and three sixes before losing his wicket to Nabi. Things got worse for Guyana as they lost seven wickets for 98 runs in 15.3 overs. However, the pair of Odean Smith and Keemo Paul stitched a partnership of 74 runs in just 26 balls.
Smith scored 42 off just 16 balls including six sixes before being cleaned up by Rovman Powell. On the other hand, Paul scored an unbeaten 24 off 12 balls including two sixes and as many fours. Junior Sinclair's last ball six helped the team finish 178/8 at the end of the innings.
Jamaica Tallawahs failed to chase down despite Brandon King's brilliance
In reply, the two-time winners lost the wicket of Kennar Lewis (13) to Imran Tahir. Kirk McKenzie (15) failed to get going and was run out by the Chadrapual Hemraj and Tahir pair. Skipper Rovman Powell (4) became the second victim of the former South Africa leggie. At 58/3, Brandon King and Raymon Riefer stitched a partnership of 54 runs with the former doing most of the scoring.
Reifer only scored six before being outclassed by a bouncer from Odean Smith. The batting line-up of Tallawahs from skipper Powell to Mohammad Amir failed to reach the double-figure mark. Brandon King scored another CPL century. He got out when the team needed 14 off four balls as he was trying to get back to the striking end. After this, the team lost their remaining two wickets and lost the game by 12 runs.

Definitely too good for the CPL level. Remains to be seen whether he'll be able to translate that success in a much more high-stakes event. Plus it's good to see that he's open to having a more pliable role in the side.#CricketTwitter #CPL22 https://t.co/27xC05s3Zc

Some wild scenes in the CPL
Amazon Warriors hit 74 off their last three overs (second most ever in a T20)
Then Brandon King makes 104 off 66 balls on losing side, with next highest score for Jamaica Tallawahs being 15https://t.co/XgZ5nHYN00 #CPL22

How many times does it happen when a player scores a 100 and his team fails to chase down 170-odd. Fascinating #CPL22
