The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 is going to start from 23rd February, Friday. On 21st February all the five captains of the teams in WPL met in M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru for a photo session with the trophy. The regaining champions of the first edition Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Capitals. This match is a rematch of last year's final. The second edition of WPL will take in two cities Bangalore and Delhi.
After the first edition of the WPL, this season promises to be a mega event as all the teams fight for the title. The women’s Premier League is better and bigger year by year. A lot of cricket fans come to watch their favourite players watch their matches.
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has provided a stage for women to showcase their skills. WPL has provided opportunities not all to Indian women’s cricket but also to international women’s cricketers to show their ability on the biggest stage.
The first half of the Women’s Premier League will be played in Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Later it will move to Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Delhi leg will start from 5th March. All WPL matches will start from 7.30 PM onwards. Ahead of the first game between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, there will be an opening ceremony taking place. For the opening ceremony, many Bollywood stars will mark their presence. The addition of the Bollywood star is Shah Rukh Khan.
The table topper of WPL will book his place directly to tin the final while teams placed second and third will face each other in Eliminator. The Eliminator will be played on 15th March while the final will take place on 17th of March.
