Women's Premier League 2024: Dates revealed for finals and opening ceremony

Similar to the previous season, there will be no home-away format in the WPL, but the matches will be held in two cities, Delhi and Bengaluru, for the upcoming season.

The complete schedule for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 has been unveiled, featuring last year's champions Mumbai Indians (MI) for the opening match of the season against Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The 2024 WPL season is set to commence on February 23, with the finals which is slated for March 17 in New Delhi. 

The tournament will consist of a total of 22 matches, and all games will commence at 7:30 pm. The eliminator is scheduled for March 15. Similar to the previous season, there will be no home-away format in the WPL, but the matches will be held in two cities, Delhi and Bengaluru, for the upcoming season. The WPL 2024 season will maintain the same format as the previous year, with the top three teams in the league stage progressing to the playoffs.

The team that secures the top position in the league table will directly qualify for the final. Meanwhile, the teams finishing second and third will face off in the Eliminator on March 15. In the previous season, Mumbai Indians, led by India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, clinched the title by defeating Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets. Delhi Capital captain Meg Lanning emerged as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 345 runs, while MI's Hayley Mathews claimed the Purple Cap by taking 16 wickets in 10 matches.
