Mehidi Hasan Miraz has opened up on him being sacked as the captain of Chattogram Challengers in BPL 2022. Hasan was informed of the decision just hours before the game against Sylhet Sunrisers on Saturday. The all-rounder has now blamed Yasir Alam (CEO of Chattogram Challengers) as the main culprit behind everything.

Miraz did not attend the practice session with the rest of his teammates and was adamant not to play for the team in the tournament ahead. He moved out of the Challengers' team hotel on Sunday afternoon. Bangladesh Cricket Board chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury tried to stop him but he left stating he wanted to be with his ailing mother in Dhaka.

After being persuaded by the BCB chief executive to return to the hotel, Miraz burst into anger and blamed Yasir Alam for the chaos. While removing Miraz as captain, Alam said that he is acting on the advice of head coach Paul Nixon. But Miraz claimed that Nixon had nothing to do with his sacking as captain.

As reported by Aajtak, Miraz said, “Actually, I do not have any more mentality to play now. What happened the previous day doesn’t really add up. Three hours before our match, he informed me that I am no longer the captain. I told them they could have informed me earlier. This is very insulting to a player."

“The statement he has made that the coach suggested my sacking as captain is completely wrong. You can ask the coach. I talked to him for half an hour. Yasir’s statement is completely wrong. Yasir is the biggest culprit. I am sure he tells the owner of the team what to do. Team owner is a good person. He does not get involved in team affairs," he added.

The 24-year old said that he will not play for the franchise until Yasir Alam is associated with the franchise. Miraz revealed that he had given his suggestion of promoting himself up the order after which he was sacked as captain.

“I have started the innings in the BPL for the last two years. I played well as an opener. And I just gave my opinion. I didn’t force anything. Had I forced myself, I would have opened the innings,” he said.

“I will not play if he is around. If Yasir Bhai is not in the franchise, I will play. Otherwise, I will not play. It is completely clear,” concluded Miraz
