Talking a bit more about MS Dhoni, he was recently in action earlier this year in the Indian Premier League 2023 for Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni led the CSK to their fifth title in the history of the tournament. With that win, CSK also joined the Mumbai Indians to become the most successful team in the tournament. Both teams now have 5 trophies in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Apart from that, there are also speculations that MS Dhoni could appear for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League. The news came out after he successfully underwent knee surgery in Mumbai after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2023.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan spoke about captain cool’s knee injury and the way he managed it throughout the entire tournament without complaining about any discomfort to management. "We never asked him things like 'Do you want to play or do you want to sit out.' If he can't, he would've told us straight away. We knew it was a struggle for him to play, but his commitment to the team, his leadership, and how the team benefits everyone knows. From that perspective, you have to appreciate him,” said Viswanathan to ESPNcricinfo.
