Star Indian batter Virat Kohli rose to the occasion and smashed an outstanding ton as Royal Challengers Bangalore prevailed over Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in a crucial Indian Premier League 2023 encounter. At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Virat Kohli along with Faf du Plessis notched up 71 runs from 47 balls and set the tone for the game as they attempted to reach the target of 187 runs. With the victory, Royal Challengers Bangalore climbed to fourth place in the IPL points standings.
After RCB's victory, renowned journalist Rajat Sharma launched a vicious attack on Gautam Gambhir. Notably, Rajat and the former cricketer got into a social media argument when Rajat questioned the former's angry conversation with Virat during LSG's match versus RCB early in the season. In his post, Rajat praised the former RCB captain for his century before criticizing Gambhir.
Rajat Sharma took to twitter after this magnificent hundred from the former RCB skipper, βMagnificent 100 by Virat. It was a delight to watch. Of course, somebody somewhere may not be happy.β

RCB add fuel to the playoff race after amazing victory
The path to the Indian Premier League playoffs heated up with RCB's eight-wicket victory versus Sunrisers Hyderabad last night, as Bangalore and Mumbai Indians both have 14 points after 13 games. But with 12 points each, the Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Punjab Kings still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs despite the fact their qualification scenario appears to be challenging.Β
Since their net run rate will ultimately determine their standing in the league, RCB and MI will need to concede their final league match of the season while winning by a huge margin. In that regard, Rajasthan will play Punjab in their final game of the season, giving either team a chance to finish among the top four, while KKR will face Lucknow Super Giants, that are vying for a spot among the top two. But LSG will be forced to withdraw from the competition if RCB and MI both win their respective games and they lose.
Fans react as Indian journalist posts cryptic tweet post Kohli's century : -

Virat Kohli scored a blistering 100 as he and skipper Faf du Plessis guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to an 8-wicket win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kohli (100) and du Plessis (71) made short work of the 186-run chase as they got to the target with 4 balls to spare.
