Sunrisers Hyderabad have not had the best IPL 2023 campaign so far as they have won two games and lost five. The Orange Army is currently placed ninth on the points table. They have not been consistent, their batting has not fired, and they have not been able to get much impetus with the ball. SRH have not been able to execute their plans properly

Now, they have been dealt a huge blow. Washington Sundar, the star all-rounder, has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury. Sundar made a big impact on SRH's performance against Delhi Capitals' last game. He picked up 3-28 and made 24 runs with the bat as well. With him out of the mix, SRH's middle order looks brittle, and they will lose an off-spin bowling option as well.

Washington Sundar has played 58 matches in the Indian Premier League so far in his career

"Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury," SRH wrote on their accounts on social media. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder has played seven games for the Orange Army this season. He made 60 runs with the bat, with the highest score of 24, and he also picked up three wickets in the tournament before he got injured.

Sundar has starred in 58 matches and has made 378 runs and picked up 36 wickets in the league. He has played for IPL teams like the now-defunct Rising Pune Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and now SRH. It is very sad to see someone like him being weighed down with injuries as the all-rounder comes across as someone who has a lot of potential.

SRH won an IPL Trophy in 2016 under the captaincy of David Warner. A struggling Orange Army, at present faces DC in their next game. The last time these two sides met in Hyderabad, DC showed SRH who is boss. The DC bowling unit defended a low score of 144 and defeated SRH by a narrow 7-run margin.
