The 20-20 World Cup is all set to take place in Australia later this year. As it was the Aussies who won the previous edition in 2021, they would be hoping to win the title once again, in front of their home crowd. Thus, they are scheduled to play several T20 series' to prepare for the tournament.
In what can be called promising news, Australia are set to tour India for a three-match T20I series in September 2022. According to a report by foxsports.com.au, the Australian team will be playing several white-ball games against the likes of New Zealand, Zimbabwe, England, West Indies and India.
“Australia will play a number of white ball series with home games against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, West Indies, and England coming to either side of three T20s in India in September,” read the report. Thus, this means that they are set to make up for the lost time in 2020 and 2021, as several games were called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is to be noted that Australia will be touring India again in February-March 2023 for a four-match Test series. This comes as exciting news as games between India and Australia have always been entertaining. However, the Aussies will first be touring Sri Lanka next month. They are scheduled to play two Tests, three T20Is and three ODIs in June-July 2022.
Currently, most of the Australian players are participating in the Indian T20 league 2022. Like Australia, even India have a tight schedule ahead of them. Post the completion of the cash-rich league, they will be hosting South Africa for a five-match T20I series. After which, the Asian side will be playing two T20Is against Ireland before travelling to England.
When it comes to their tour of England, India will be playing three T20Is, three ODIs, and the one rescheduled Test as well. Rohit Sharma and his troops have been superb in the recent past and thus, would be looking forward to their upcoming games.
