Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has invited a flurry of hilarious reactions from fans for his bizarre comment on Babar Azam. The Pakistan captain is one of the most admired cricketers in the current generation thanks to his on-field heroics in all formats of the game. The 28-year-old is in tremendous form in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023.
Babar, who represents Colombo Strikers, recently scored a century against Galle Titans. His 104 off 59 balls helped his team win by seven wickets after chasing down a target of 189 on the fifth delivery of the 20th over. Raja was amazed by Babar's remarkable innings and praised the right-hander for his match-winning century on Monday, August 7.
While admiring his calm and composed innings in which he completed his 10th T20 century, Raja made a weird comment, saying that he would like to marry the Pakistan skipper. "Fifty in security, class, and quality, calmness. He is your guy in such a situation, in the back deep in the innings. I just absolutely love him - wanna marry him," said Raja, who was part of the LPL commentary panel.

Babar scripted history with his sensational century
Babar's debut match in the LPL started on a poor note, scoring only seven runs in his first match against Jaffna Kings. However, he bounced back with 59 in the next game and won the Player of the Match against B-Love Kandy. The right-hander continued the form and scored 41 in the next game, and went on to smash his maiden LPL ton in just 59 balls, including 8 fours and 5 sixes, in the last game.
Babar is now only the second batter in history to score 10 or more centuries in T20 cricket. West Indies power hitter Chris Gayle tops the list with 22 hundreds. With the 2023 Asia Cup fast approaching, Babar is in great touch and Pakistan supporters will be overjoyed because the competition will be staged in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
"We started off well, Later we tried to manage the run rates. I thought 190-200 was a good score. At the back of the mind, was trying to build my partnerships," Babar said in the post-match presentation.
