Shreyas Iyer is all set to return to action for Team India in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series against Australia. The hosts, India will take on the Aussies in the ODI series opener at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali tomorrow Friday, September 22. Iyer was excluded from the Indian squad due to a back spasm just before India’s first super-4 clash against the arch-rivals, Pakistan.

He was replaced by the star wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul in the game against Pakistan; the latter was also making his comeback from an injury, he sustained during the Indian Premier League 2023 earlier.

Apart from that, the top order of the Indian team is also studded with the in-form batters in the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and his young mate Shubman Gill, alongside the former skipper Virat Kohli.
