Star South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada achieved an amazing feat in the ongoing first Test of the two-match series against India. He completed 500 international wickets across all formats with the five-wicket haul in the first innings of the Centurion Test. Rabada achieved this feat by scalping the wicket of India’s lower-order batter Shardul Thakur.

Rabada has now become the 7th South African bowler to reach the milestone of 500 international wickets. He is now behind the former Proteas pacer Morne Morkel, who scalped 535 wickets in 241 matches across all formats.

Rabada has now 16 five-wicket hauls to his name, alongside four 10-wicket hauls across all formats. Apart from that, he has also claimed 20 four-wicket hauls to his name at the highest level of the game. Notably, Rabada has the highest number of wickets in the Test format in his 500 international wickets.

Speaking of the 28-year-old’s career in the longest format of the game, with this performance in the ongoing Centurion Test against India, he has now 285 wickets in 109 innings of the 61 matches, including 13 five-wicket hauls and four-wicket hauls. He has also claimed 14 four-wicket hauls in the traditional format of the game.
