The Indian Premier League(IPL) dates and schedules have been revealed. The much-awaited franchise League will be starting on 22nd March in Chennai. It is going to be the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore who will start the proceedings of the league. This is already set to be an epic battle between the yellow brigade and the boys in red. There is no doubt that people are ready and excited to witness another rivalry between Thala Ms Dhoni and King Virat Kohli.
The Chennai Super Kings will be the favourites in the game, especially when they are playing at home. They will be confident as well after being defending champions last season as well. They currently have the joint highest titles with 5 trophies to their name. The stage will be set for an epic battle between these two popular teams featuring some of the biggest legends in the game. There will be a lot of support for the Super Kings going into this tournament with their massive fanbase.
Devon Conway to miss out
Even though we are eager to see CSK play, they have recently suffered a big blow ahead of the season. New Zealand opener Devon Conway, who was one of their star performers is now suffering from a thumb injury. This has ruled out the talented Kiwi batter in the league till May. Knowing that Conway was also the highest run-getter for them last season, will make this a big blow for the team. They will also want to see who will be able to replace him as well.
To be fair some great options in the CSK squad who can take Conway’s place. They have the likes of Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra, who cannot only open the batting but give some handy overs with the ball as well. Despite this sad news, they will still be regarded as one of the favourites to win the league in the upcoming season. We all know if there is a team that can make a champion team out of anything it is the Chennai Super Kings.
