Ex-pacer Stuart Broad posts hilarious Instagram story after England announce Test squad against India

Former England pacer Stuart Broad came up with a hilarious and witty Instagram story after England announced their 16-men squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against India. Notably, Stuart Broad had announced his retirement during the Ashes 2023 against the arch-rivals England.

His last appearance was in the last and fifth Test of the Ashes 2023 against England, which was played at the Kennington Oval in London from July 27 to July 31. He registered a unique record of ending his international career with a six with the bat on the last ball of the career and with a wicket with the ball on the career’s last ball.

Coming back to his recent Instagram story, Stuart Broad took his official Instagram handle to post a story after the announcement of England’s Test team against India for the upcoming series. Broad’s text on his Instagram story seemed like he was still processing his long journey in international cricket.

“Genuinely spent 5 seconds looking for my name (with a laughing emoji),” wrote Broad while sharing an Instagram post of England Cricket in which the finalized squad was posted for the India tour.

Talking about Stuart Broad’s illustrious international career of almost 17 years, he featured in record 167 Tests and 121 ODIs. The 37-year-old ended his career as the fifth leading wicket-taker in the history of Test cricket. Apart from that, he is also the fifth player to appear in the most number of Test matches, just behind former Australian skipper Steve Waugh, who played 168 Tests for Australia from 1985.

Apart from scalping more than 600 Test wickets, one of the major highlights of Stuart Broad’s career is the match of the T20 World Cup 2007 against India, in which the former Indian batting stalwart Yuvraj Singh smashed six sixes in a single over of the then young England pacer.
