The build-up for the upcoming IPL 2024 mini-auction is getting highly intensified with every passing day. The auction for the next edition of the tournament is set to be held next week on Tuesday, December 19. Meanwhile, one of the celebrated franchises and the side, having a huge fan-following, Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eyeing ending their trophy drought.

Notably, the Royal Challengers Bangalore haven’t won any title across 16 seasons and the 15-year-long history of the tournament since its inception in 2008. So, they will be targeting to end this much-awaited trophy drought for them.

With said that, here we’ll have a look at the SWOT analysis of RCB, including their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, alongside their remaining purse and slots for the upcoming mini-auction for the Indian Premier League 2024.

Strengths

One of the glaring strengths of RCB is their excellent and strong batting lineup, including veterans like former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, former Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis, and the blistering Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in the top-order of the batting lineup. Apart from this, there is a mixture of both youth and experience in the batting order, including the young Aussie all-rounder Cameron Green.

Weaknesses

Even after having a mighty batting lineup, the major concern for RCB is their bowling attack, which is looking quite weak after they released the senior pacer, Josh Hazlewood. They don’t have any mainstream bowlers except the star Indian pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj. So, they’ll also eye to fill in this void by picking a few star pacers, alongside talented spinners during the mini-auction for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League 2024.

Apart from this, the question of having a good finisher stands still for the RCB management; it has also created a couple of problems for them in the past while chasing the targets in the previous editions of the tournament which happened to cost them the titles and led an elimination from the tournament.

Opportunities

Royal Challengers Bangalore have also some opportunities awaiting them as they’ll be looking ahead to invest in some young talents during the next edition of the tournament. It will also secure plans for the future for the RCB management.

Threats

The threats for Faf du Plessis' side, include the lack of experience in holding their nerve in the knockout stage of the tournament, which could hamper their strategies to win the title and their trophy drought even in the 17th season of the tournament.

Remaining Purse of RCB for IPL 2024 Auction

Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently left with the remaining purse of INR 23.25 crores for the upcoming IPL 2024 mini-auction.
