Former West Indies skipper and batting coach of Mumbai Indians, Kieron Pollard took to his official Instagram handle to leave the cricketing world and social media in various assumptions. Pollard came up with a cryptic Instagram, which went on to be assumed by fans as a target of the MI’s recent decision to replace former skipper Rohit Sharma with the star all-rounder Hardik Pandya as captain of the team.
Fans also linked Pollard’s Instagram story to the same and came up with a lot of comments over X (formerly Twitter).

A few days back, millions of MI fans were fumed over the franchise’s decision to appoint Hardik Pandya as a skipper at the expense of former and five-time IPL Champion skipper Rohit Sharma. In the same line of events, MI’s Global Head of Cricket and former Sri Lanka skipper, Mahela Jayawardene also cleared the stance and psyche of the franchise behind replacing Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as skipper.
“It was a tough decision. It was emotional, to be honest. It's fair on the fans as well (to react). I think everyone is emotional and we have to respect that as well. But at the same time, as a franchise, you have to make those decisions,” said Jayawardene on Jio Cinema.
“The legacy is something we want to build on and make sure we keep fighting for those wins, those trophies. That's the focus going ahead. Everyone in their eyes probably will think it is too soon, but it is a decision we had to make at some point. Hardik Pandya has been in the dressing room for quite some time, so that's nothing new. We know what he brings in as an all-rounder,” he added later.
