Interestingly, Pandya’s comeback to the Mumbai Indians has been among the most discussed topics in the Indian cricketing circle. The five-time champions, MI happened to replace the former skipper Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya to lead the side in the Indian Premier League 2024. This move from the franchise ignited a huge backlash among the cricket, especially the MI fans.

Subsequently, more than a million fans unfollowed the franchise from social media so, the second most successful team of the tournament lost an unprecedented number of followers just within 24 hours of their decision to appoint Hardik Pandya as a captain of the side.

Fans also trolled and fired up at the Mumbai Indians for removing Rohit Sharma from captaincy because the team have won all five IPL titles under the captaincy of Rohit in the last 10 years since 2013.

Speaking of Team India, they are currently in South Africa for the remaining second and last Test of the two-match series against South Africa. Rohit Sharma-led Indian team already lost by a huge margin of an innings and 32 runs in the first Test of the series at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
