2023 was not pleasing for Team India in terms of their luck in the major international tournaments like the Test Championship in June and the ODI World Cup 2023 in November. Rohit Sharma’s men lost to Australia in the finals of both the marquee international tournaments. First, they lost in Test Championship 2023 final followed by a defeat in November in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against the Aussies.
Meanwhile, the former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad was asked a very thoughtful question by a fan over X (formerly Twitter). Prasad came up with a very blunt and interesting answer to a fan’s question.

“Chokers not, we have won 2 Test series against Australia in Australia, the last one in 2020-21 after 36 all out, I consider as one of India’s greatest, especially with more than half of first-choice players missing. But there is certainly something not right about not winning any major tournament in 11 years,” replied Venkatesh Prasad.

Currently, Rohit Sharma-led Team India are in action in the ongoing two-match Test series against South Africa, in which they faced a humiliating defeat by a margin of an innings and 32 runs in the first Test of the series. Now, both teams will take on each other in the second and last Test of the two-match series at the Newlands in Cape Town, starting on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Earlier, Team India defeated the Proteas in the three-match ODI series by 2-1 under the captaincy of star wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul followed by a 1-1 draw in the three-match T20I series under the captaincy of star batter Suryakumar Yadav.
