Virat Kohli is currently out of the Indian team as he is with his family. While the Indian batting star is out taking some personal time, Jay Shah made a huge statement. 35-year-old Jay Shah showed his sympathy with the former Indian skipper who is dealing with personal issues.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has been named the skipper of the Indian side for the T20I World Cup in June. The 36-year-old has been impressing the world with his astute captaincy in recent times.

It was under Rohit Sharma that India reached the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023. It was long thought that Hardik Pandya would become the next skipper. With an amazing century vs Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma roared back to form in the shortest format.

Speaking ahead of the third Test between India and England, Jay Shah made a huge statement. One of the most critical moments was when the 35-year-old spoke about Virat Kohli.

“If somebody is asking for a personal leave in 15 years then it is his right to ask for it. Virat is not that kind of a player that he would ask for a leave without any reason. We must back and trust our players” said Jay Shah about Virat Kohli.

In recent times, a few players have decided to go against the Team Management by not playing domestic cricket. This has created a huge debate in the cricketing circles with Ishan Kishan being a notable example.

Whatever advice we get from the NCA — say suppose somebody's body is not able to handle both white-ball and red-ball cricket — so we do not want to impose anything in that regard," Jay Shah was heard saying.

Team India has seen a spate of injuries in recent times with KL Rahul the latest. The 31-year-old was initially named in the Indian squad for the final three Tests vs England. On Monday it was revealed that Rahul will not be part of the third game in Rajkot.

Devdutt Padikkal was called up as the cover while Sarfaraz Khan was given his Test debut. Dhruv Jurel is another player who made his India debut in Rajkot after KS Bharat’s continuous failures.
