Indian Cricket appears to be transforming with the Indian Cricket Board as they are attempting to make sure that players play in Ranji Trophy matches. This is happening because Ishan Kishan prefers to choose personal training over playing Ranji Trophy matches for his state team Jharkhand.

Indian Cricket Board wants apparently to Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar and Krunal Pandya to play in the Ranji Trophy. But Hardik Pandya has not received such directive as he counties to focus on personal training.

When the Indian Cricket Board official was questioned about why Hardik Pandya was given an exception, their response focused on his injury history and how much red ball cricket can take his body.

An official stated to the Times of India, "We can understand Hardik Pandya's case as his body can't take the rigours of red-ball cricket. He can't withstand the workload of Test cricket and Team India needs him fit for cricket events."

Players picking IPL over Ranji Trophy

Indian Cricket is not happy with certain players as they are choosing IPL over the Ranji Trophy matches. Therefore, the Indian Cricket Board has urged the players to play at least 3-4 Ranji Trophy games before playing in the IPL.

“When you call some young players, they say that they are currently doing physio work. This needs to get stop somewhere,” an Indian Cricket Board official told to PTI.

“The decision-makers in the Indian Cricket Board are very were aware of that some players don’t want to play any red-ball cricket,” the official stated.

As T20 cricket has risen up in many other countries and some players seems to consider to play the shortest format over the red-ball cricket.

As IPL has opened the gates to get into national team players doesn’t want to play red-ball cricket. Therefore, precaution must be taken to prevent the historic Ranji Trophy.
