The veteran India pacer Umesh Yadav has been out of action from the international for the last couple of months since he appeared for India in the World Test Championship 2023 Final. However, Umesh wasn’t very impressive with the ball in the WTC 2023 final against the Aussies as he could scalp only two wickets in the entire match.
Apart from that, he is currently in action for his domestic team Vidarbha in the ongoing Indian domestic First-Class tournament, Ranji Trophy 2024. He has been in consistent form with the ball in the last five matches of the tournament, he played for Vidarbha, scalping 20 wickets in 8 innings of these 5 matches.
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old pacer has now attracted the headlines for his cryptic Instagram story which he recently shared from his official Instagram handle. It is also being speculated that the pacer may be hinting of his comeback to the cricket.

The star Vidarbha pacer has been active in competitive cricket for more than 15 years since his First-Class debut in the year 2008 for Vidarbha against Madhya Pradesh. Almost one and a half years after his First-Class debut, Umesh made his first international appearance in the Bulawayo ODI between Zimbabwe and India in 2010.
Around the end of 2011, the management invested their trust in the Vidarbha pacer and he got a chance to make his Test debut against West Indies in Delhi test in 2011.
Since then, he has played 57 Tests and 75 ODIs, including 9 T20Is for India, scalping 170 Test wickets, 106 ODI Wickets and 12 wickets in the T20Is. Besides that, he is one of the standout performers in domestic cricket with 370 wickets in 119 First-Class matches.
