In a testament to his outstanding achievements on the cricket field, Mohammed Shami is poised to receive the prestigious Arjuna Award for his stellar performance in 2023. This recognition comes from Shami's remarkable contribution as the leading wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup 2023. He secured an impressive 24 wickets in just seven innings in the tournament.

The Arjuna Award, India's second-highest sporting honour, is bestowed upon individuals who exhibit exceptional prowess in sports and games. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, the 33-year-old right-arm pacer's influence extended beyond the ODI format, showcasing his versatility with 43 wickets in a mere 19 innings across the format.
