Hardik Pandya's trade saw huge transfer fee to GT from MI - Reports

The trade of Hardik Pandya was a big shock for the fans. But the bigger shock for MI and fans was him being named the captain over a successful one like Rohit Sharma. The latter had helped MI to win 5 trophies in his 11 years of captaincy for the franchise. In the history of the IPL, Rohit is one of the most successful captains. 

Unfortunately, Rohit Sharma was snubbed from captaincy at the cost of Hardik. The fans of Rohit have not been able to overcome the decision of the franchise and expressed their anger. Some of the fans unfollowed MI on social media and the others burnt the jersey, cap, and flag of the franchise. The outrage was expected and the fans let out their emotional side by letting out hate against MI.

A new report has emerged out that claims reason behind the transfer of Hardik from GT to Mumbai Indians. It claims that GT did not want to let go of Hardik easily and demanded a huge sum from MI. The report claim the sum to be an astonishing amount of INR 100 crores, which has never happened to date in the history of the league. It might be a pathbreaking trade in the league.

Functioning of Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians

The report claimed that the difference between the working of Gujarat Titans and MI was evident and responsible for the huge trade. It said that the two franhcises have a different motive, culture, and goals. While GT is an investment from CVC Capital, MI is a family business run by a single family. GT has several portfolio to consider about.

On the other hand, MI do not have complexity in decision making. As a result, there was no difficulty for MI in buying Hardik Pandya. Report claims that GT thought of making the best use of the trade and raised a compensatory amount of INR 100 crores in an unofficial way. It was reported that MI paid Gujarat Titans the exact sum to get Hardik.
