Indian skipper Rohit Sharma recently appeared in a pre-match press conference ahead of the first Test of the three-match series against South Africa. He answered various questions from the journalists who were there at the press conference. Notably, Rohit was rested out of the T20I series and three-match ODI series against the hosts.

Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul were respectively the T20I and ODI captains of Team India in the white-ball leg of the ongoing tour of South Africa. India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, will be eyeing to register their first-ever Test series win against South Africa in South Africa to end a 31-year-long wait.

Meanwhile, Rohit was also asked a question by a reporter about the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, to which the former came up with a very witty response and successfully escaped the question which is coming almost from the entire Indian media, alongside the cricket journalists.

“When you talk about desperation to win, do you mean the T20 WC?” asked the journalist to Rohit Sharma. 

“Whenever the boys get the opportunity, they have to perform. I know what you are trying to say, you will get the answer soon,” said Rohit in response with a smile on his face during the pre-match press conference.

South Africa and India will take on each other in the first Test of the two-match Test series, starting on Tuesday, December 26 at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Following this, Rohit Sharma’s men will lock horns with the hosts in the second and last Test of the series, starting on January 3, 2024, at the Newlands in Cape Town.

Coming back to Rohit Sharma; he will be back in action for India for the first time after the team’s heartbreaking loss against Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
