Rohit Sharma records

Team India has been in exceptional form in the ODI World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma's side have won 8 out of 8 matches in the competition. They are the only unbeaten side in the tournament and also became the first team to qualify for the knockouts. The skipper has led the team from the front giving India the best and fiery start from the top of the order.

Rohit has been leading the team from the front as he is the second-highest run scorer for the Men in Blue with 503 runs in 9 innings. The opener has been in red-hot form so far as he scored one century and three fifties. The 36-year-old batter has the most number of centuries in ODI World Cup history with seven behind his name. He has broken some of the records in the tournament so far.

The Men in Blue will play New Zealand in the first semi-final of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium, in Mumbai. They would love to take revenge for the 2019 World Cup semi-final where the Kiwis had the upper hand against the two-time champions.

Rohit Sharma achieves new milestones

Meanwhile, Rohit set the record for the most sixes in a calendar year. He's been in fantastic form this season, picking up where he left off in 2019. Sharma now has 60 sixes in the tournament, the most by any player in an ODI calendar year. De Villiers held the previous record with 58 sixes in 2015, while Chris Gayle scored 56 in 2019.

He also broke Eoin Morgan's record for most sixes by an ODI captain in the World Cup. The 35-year-old currently has the most sixes in the mega-tournament, more than any other skipper. In the tournament he broke the record for most centuries in the ODI World Cup, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record who had 6 centuries in 44 innings. The Indian skipper now has 7 in the marquee event.

He also is the first player to score 500+ runs in back-to-back World Cups. The opener became the first Indian captain to score 500 runs in a single World Cup edition. He also has the most sixes in a single venue in ODI.
