Chennai Super Kings to play first match of IPL 2024
“We are looking at a March 22 start for the tournament. We are working closely with the government agencies and we will first release the initial schedule,” Arun Dhumal told PTI.
As per various reports, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play the opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at its home stadium, M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk. In IPL 2024, a total of 74 matches will be played between the 10 teams in the home and away format. There will be an opening ceremony taking place before the opening games. Due to the election this year, IPL will be played for 67 days instead of 60 days. The final will take place on 26th May, just 5 days before the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is taking place in the West Indies and the USA from 1st June.
