Former star Pakistan pacer Junaid Khan recently came up with a big statement while comparing the Indian batters who ever played the game at the highest level of the game. His statement also ignited a debate among the Indian cricket fans about the question of the best batter ever played for India.

Notably, India have seen a lot of great batters in the last couple of decades, including the former legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar followed by the currently active batting legends, Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma. Kohli also attracted the headlines recently when he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries, scoring the 50th century in the ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final against New Zealand.

In the same line of events, Junaid Khan during a talk with Pakistani YouTuber Nadir Ali, was asked about the best Indian batter ever played in his opinion. The former star pacer chose the current Indian skipper and the batting stalwart, Rohit Sharma above all other batters like Virat Kohli and former legend Sachin Tendulkar. 

“In my opinion, Rohit Sharma is the greatest Indian batsman. The way he plays is worth watching. He has every type of shot. There is no doubt that Virat Kohli showcased outstanding batting in the World Cup. Regarding Sachin, one can say that if he played in today’s era, he would have scored not just 100 but 150 centuries,” said Junaid Khan to Nadir Ali.

“Why is Rohit Sharma called ‘Hitman’? He scored 264 in ODIs. Besides, he has hit 2-3 double centuries, a remarkable feat. He has hit the most sixes, so my vote goes to Rohit Sharma,” he added later. 

Recently, Rohit Sharma was in action for India in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023, where he ended up as the second leading run-scorer in the tournament, just behind his teammate and former Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
