Sarfaraz Khan made an outstanding Test debut during the third game vs England in Rajkot. The 26-year-old scored 62 runs on debut before confusion while running cost him his wicket.

The incident happened in the 82nd over of the Indian innings with Ravindra Jadeja batting on 99. The Indian all-rounder pushed the ball to mid-on and Sa*rfaraz was already running. Before Jadeja could decline the single, Mark Wood threw the ball and hit the stumps on the full.

There was a moment of silence as Sarfaraz Khan looked back in shock. The young man was out as there was hush in the stadium. This was the 4th Test century for Ravindra Jadeja in Test cricket and the second in front of his home crowd.

Rohit Sharma loses his cool over Sarfaraz Khan’s run-out –

Ravindra Jadeja was in shock as Sarfaraz Khan was run out for 62. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma threw down his cap in disgust after the massive mix-up which cost India a huge wicket.

On Thursday, 26-year-old Sarfaraz Khan was given his debut cap by Anil Kumble. The right-handed batter came out to bat when Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the 64th over. The youngster began the innings watchfully before taking three runs to open his account.

Once he got his eye in, there was no stopping the debutant as he unleashed amazing shots. Ben Stokes and his team were left speechless at the veteran-like approach by Sarfaraz Khan. With a single, the young man reached his half-century and lifted his bat in delight towards his family.

Earlier in the day, Mark Wood and Tom Hartley had reduced India to 33/3. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out for 10, while Rajat Patidar was out for five. Shubman Gill didn’t trouble the scorers as he was out for a 9-ball duck.

Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma then added 204 runs for the 4th wicket to bail India out of trouble. 77 runs were added for the 5th wicket before the unfortunate run out of Sarfaraz Khan. At the end of the day, India was placed at 320/5 with Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja batting.
