England lost the T20I and ODI series against India by 2-1. They now move ahead to clash with South Africa on home soil. South Africa on the other hand drew an away T20I series with India winning the first two matches and losing the next two, while the last match was abandoned due to rain.
England sit at the second spot in the International T20I team rankings with a rating of 264, meanwhile, South Africa are ranked fourth with 255. In the ODI, the gap is even bigger with England sitting at second with 121 rating points whereas South Africa are placed sixth with 99. This series would be a good test for both before the upcoming T20I World Cup later this year in Australia.

England: The biggest news for the England team is the return of Adil Rashid who was on leave completing his Hajj pilgrimage. Jonny Bairstow would also return to the T20I squad after being rested for the one against India. Ben Stokes has been rested from the white-ball series to manage workload.
Richard Gleeson retains his place while Mathew Potts earns his maiden ODI call-up.
South Africa: South Africa would be without their captain Temba Bavuma due to an elbow injury suffered against India. Keshav Maharaj has been promoted as the captain in ODI whereas David Miller will lead the T20I side.
Kagiso Rabada has been rested for the ODI series but will feature in the T20I one. Rilee Rossouw has been included after six years. Gerald Coetzee has also been called up.
