The win catapulted Mumbai City FC to level points with league leaders Odisha FC, both teams boasting an impressive 35 points each.

However, Odisha FC holds a slight edge with a superior goal difference of +15 compared to Mumbai City FC's +14.

The match showcased a replay of their earlier fixture, where Punjab FC succumbed to a 2-1 defeat in the City of Dreams.

This time, Madih Talal and Wilmar Jordan Gill found the net within two minutes, granting the ISL debutants a 2-1 lead at halftime. Mumbai City FC, led by January transfer market recruit and former FC Goa talisman Bipin Singh, orchestrated a remarkable comeback in the second half.

Punjab FC, with three wins in their last four matches, demonstrated resilience in the second half but fell short. The defeat leaves them looking to bounce back in their upcoming fixture against NorthEast United FC on March 7.
