In a gripping encounter at the Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad FC showcased resilience and determination by scoring two late goals to secure a 2-2 draw against NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League (ISL 10) 2023–24.

Parthib Gogoi opened the scoring for NorthEast United FC in the 32nd minute, ending his nine-match goal drought with a powerful strike from distance. Hyderabad FC's defensive struggles persisted into the second half, resulting in an unfortunate own goal by Alex Saji in the 51st minute, giving NorthEast United FC a significant lead.

However, Hyderabad FC, known for trusting their young talents, mounted a spirited comeback. Makhan Chothe, breaking his goal drought in the 70th minute with a headed effort from Abdul Rabeeh's cross, ignited the fightback. Chothe continued to shine, launching a strong shot in the 76th minute, which, despite being blocked by goalkeeper Mirshad Michu, fell to Joao Victor, who calmly tapped it in to equalize.

Makhan Chothe keeps hope alive!

Makhan Chothe emerged as the key performer of the match, playing a pivotal role in Hyderabad FC's comeback. Completing 21 out of 27 passes, Chothe showcased versatility by intercepting, crossing, earning fouls, and creating goal-scoring opportunities. His impactful performance helped Hyderabad FC salvage a crucial point from a game that seemed to be slipping away.

Despite seasoned goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani's commendable efforts, including three saves and an impressive passing accuracy of 92%, Hyderabad FC couldn't secure the win. The match's intensity and twists demonstrated the unpredictable nature of football, emphasising the fighting spirit and determination embedded in both teams.

Looking ahead, Hyderabad FC is set to face Chennaiyin FC on March 9, aiming to capitalize on their momentum. NorthEast United FC will clash with Punjab FC on March 7, seeking to bounce back from the draw. The closely contested encounter left fans eagerly anticipating the next chapters in the journeys of these two resilient teams in the ISL.
