' Humari chori choro se kam hai ke' - Fans react to Australia Women's thumping win against England in one off Ashes 2023 Test

It is certainly a win for the ages for the Australian women's Test team as they scripted a thumping win by 89 runs on the back of some extraordinary performance from the spirited players. The top performance of the match came from Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner, who ended up with an 8-for, which is by far the best bowling figure in an innings by an Australian in Women's Test cricket. Gardner took all the remaining 5 wickets to fall on Day 5 and finished with 12 wickets in the game, certainly a game to remember for a lifetime for the Australian all-rounder.

With Danni Wyatt (20*) and Kate Cross (5*) at the crease, England resumed their second innings on 116/5 and needed another 152 runs to win on the final day. The sole Test of the Women's Ashes 2023 was poised for an explosive conclusion. To get their team off to a good start for the day, the pair added quick runs and all the batters who came into bat looked to be positive and looked to score runs. But with Gardner bowling a lethal spell, she kept on taking wickets at regular intervals and never let England get into the game.

England lost wickets at regular intervals which eventually cost them the match. The women's Australian team came out from the position of bother as they had to defend 268 runs against an England side who looked pretty solid in their first innings.

With this victory, Australia earned four points and got the ideal start to their Ashes 2023 campaign. The two teams will also face off in three-match ODI and five-match T20I series, with each series' victories counting two points. The Women's Ashes 2023 will be won by the side with the most points at the end. If both sides have an equal number of points at the conclusion, Australia will keep the Ashes because they won the previous series.
