India under the captaincy of young captain Ruturaj Gaikwad are all set to be in action in the upcoming Asian Games 2023. The men in blue will start their run in the tournament with their first match on Tuesday, October 3. The second-string Team India is studded with young stars, including the likes of Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, and Jitesh Sharma.
Meanwhile, the star Indian batter and recently emerged batting prodigy, Rinku Singh came up with some praising remarks for his skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, who will be leading the side in Hangzhou during the men’s cricket competition.
Rinku Singh attracted the headlines of his IPL 2023 heroics earlier this year when he smashed 5 consecutive sixes to win the match for KKR when they required 29 off just 5 balls in the last over. Following that, he also made his India debut last month in the three-match T20I series against Ireland.
He got a chance to bat in one innings of the two matches, and the Southpaw announced his arrival with an impressive knock of 38 runs off just 21 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes.
“We have a talented in Ruturaj (Gaikwad) bhai. I am really excited to play under him and join the Indian team as soon as possible. I am confident India will win a gold medal in the Asian Games. I am very excited,” said Rinku Singh to the Times of India in an exclusive interview.

Furthermore, Rinku is also confident of being a part of an India vs. Pakistan final in the continental games next month.
“I am confident of an India vs Pakistan final in the Asian Games. I am also hoping for the same. We have got a strong and solid side. We have stars and talented players,” he said.
Rinku also spoke about his dressing room experiences during his IPL stint with Kolkata Knight Riders. He also mentioned the praise he received from the team owner and star Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
“Everyone was celebrating the win (five consecutive against GT). I can’t recall what I did at that time. The feeling was surreal. Seeing my team celebrating and jumping with joy was just amazing. Everyone praised me. Shah Rukh Khan sir also praised me a lot. He patted me on my back and hugged me,” said Rinku.
